STARDUST - An American Love Story

This project means more to me than I can explain.

In May 2019, I pitched my family on the idea of creating a documentary surrounding the 70th Wedding Anniversary of my grandfather and grandmother, Al and Laura Edwards. I’m not sure any they knew exactly what I was asking them to sign up for, but they said yes. Many months, countless conversation and hours of interviews later - STARDUST was born.

I spoke about the concept of preserving legacy on my podcast with Christian Gideon - THE GROUPCHAT POD.

We had the opportunity to screen the documentary at the same theater that they visited the day they were married, January 1st, 1950.

This project was an incredible honor - both as a filmmaker and as a family member.

My goal was not just to create something indicative of who these two remarkable people have grown to be, but to tell an honest story that is objectively fascinating and relatable. And more importantly, to inspire viewers to have these deep and nuanced conversations with their own family. It was an experience I’ll be lucky to ever recreate.
